i need to stop buying costume jewelry at zellers. also, please disregard my bedhead and pouty lips. nail polish in sheer cotton; i love that gold! waterproof e/s stick from gosh. this cream-coloured cropped shirt has a lace-up back- it's what won me over in the store. i also wore my (mom's) marisa minicucci blazer as a jacket, since it was fairly breezy out today.

on a side note, i took an extra ten minutes this morning to punch a new hole in this belt... y'know, so it actually functions as a belt? turns out the label was an impression in the backside of the belt. size large; oops. didn't see that. a leather hole punch would've come in handy, but i made do with a utility knife.

ootd: how to wear an orange romper (09/12/11)

oh, the joys of a $25 outfit. shoes not included, of course. (however, since all my sandals are "in the shop"- aka the shoe goo was drying, i wore my $1 old navy flip flops. oh, the joys of a $26 outfit.) when it comes to rompers and day dresses, h&m is my one-stop shop. they have a large variety of styles and okay-quality materials. after all, i'm not going to be wearing the same dress more than twice a month. unless they're basic solid colours, they're too memorable a clothing item.

sunday, i was digging around in my mom's '90s clothing. you would not believe the matching suits and pants she's got. this striped grey vest has a terrifying bottom counterpart. yet it was a cute neutral vest to tone down the traffic sign orange. i particularly adore the pockets on this romper, but the back of it is not very flattering, which the vest disguises.

nail polish in mellow yellow, grade six dice bracelets, and that same bird necklace from the ex. scandalous repeat, eh? (Not that I even believe in that idea.) nonetheless, i doubled it up to give it an edgier look, and to avoid having it hang down beside where the waist cinch ties.

school look one

i had absolutely no idea what to wear to school today and last night i texted my friend asking her what i should wear. she told me to "wear that white shirt" , i have at least 5 white shirts...so i mixed it up a bit and layered pieces which is especially huge this fall. i wore my favourite skinnies and a sheer shirt over a tank top. i was wearing purple flats but i recently had toe surgery and wearing closed toe shoes is probably not the best idea but because its so chilly and i walk to school , i really have no other options !

ootd: lazing (09/08/11)

i bought these boyfriend fit jeans from winners in august for a whopping $16. i never find shit like that almost in my size*, but there they were. it's also unusual for me to sleep past 6:30, which i managed to do yesterday morning. however, i woke up nice and early this morning... only to find that i'd fallen asleep while my hair was wet. nothing drastic, just twice as poufy as usual (and i have thick hair). ultimately, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

throw on some slouchy jeans, a pair of flip flops, pull your hair back into a poof (to disguise that bedhead; unfortunately, my hair won't respond to backcombing, so my "poof" was pretty half-assed). i guess half-assed the lazy aspect as well- i could've left my shirt untucked without a belt, but it works out that i don't like this shirt (which i bought three years ago), and it's the only button-up ridiculously long enough to tuck into those ridiculously** low-rise jeans. (what else can you expect from guess?)

*they're meant to be slouchy, anyways.
**fairly low-rise for boyfriend-style pants. that's why the belt's there.

nail polish in burnt caramel; hair in a loose, braided halo. it's cooled down significantly in toronto since last week. to avoid looking excessively hippie, i wore dark wash, boot cut jeans rather than the lighter, slouchy pair i originally pictured this outfit with. i am only going to school, after all. check out the album below by I Break Horses, my favourite new Swedish duo; i've been hooked on it all morning!
